Russ Roberts‘s insight:

Way to go, Louise Evans, KE7LSF!  Once you read her story, you’ll think twice about "giving up" when it comes to the challenges of amateur radio.  She must be a grand lady and a sharp YL besides.  Happy birthday!  Aloha de KH6JRM.

Ham radio: Staying relevant in the social media era

For ham radio enthusiasts in the country, the hurdles are many, but the compensations are eclectic (Amateur Radio: Ham radio: Staying relevant in the social media era http://t.co/fzOJPdUkDC)…

Russ Roberts‘s insight:

You think we have it tough in this country?  Try India.  This article about Indian hams is truly inspirational.  They do so much with so little governmental support.  Most of the Indian hams I’ve run into have been exceptionally motivated operators.  We could learn alot from them.  Aloha de KH6JRM.

Marcin Kielce SQ7BCE has released this video showing the ham radio shops in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan.

Russ Roberts‘s insight:

When I was in the USAF and had a few tours in Japan, I always looked forward to visiting  the Akihabara District in Tokyo.  Back in those days (mid-1980s), the electronic shops were better than HRO, AES, and Ham City combined.  From what I can see in the video, the electronics enthusiast will have a "field day" exploring all of the equipment available.  ‘Just wish I could afford some of this stuff!  Aloha de KH6JRM.
