Essex Ham suggest what to do if your amateur radio licence has lapsed and you’re looking to return to the hobby.

Russ Roberts‘s insight:

It’s easy to forget when your amateur licenses expires.  What do you do when your license has lapsed?  For UK amateur radio licensees, Essex Ham explains the steps needed to reinstate your amateur radio license.  The process is a bit more streamlined for U.S. hams who belong to the ARRL.  The ARRL will send you a reminder and tell you how to access the appropriate FCC forms for renewal.  You can renew your license on line if you prefer.  U.S. hams have a two-year grace period to reinstate their lapsed amateur radio licenses.  After that period, you’ll have to take the license test again.  Aloha de Russ (KH6JRM).
