The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) is the national association for amateur radio, connecting hams around the U.S. with news, information and resources.

Russ Roberts‘s insight:

ARRL CEO David Sumner (K1ZZ) has acknowledged the Ukrainian Amateur Radio League’s (UARL) position on the "temporary occupation" of Crimea by Russian forces and said "The ARRL Awards Committee determination that the annexation did not land Crimea status as a new DXCC entity."  Sumner added that DXCC status "is not intended to express a position with respect to sovereignty and should not be regarded as such."  Sumner said ARRL policy is consistent with a desire not to expand DXCC certification for areas temporarily occupied by another country.  Hopefully, the mess in Crimea can be resolved in a more reasonable manner.  Aloha de Russ (KH6JRM).
