My WOUXAN KGUV8D handheld radio with faulty keypad just returned from a quick trip to ML&S. Which expierience convinsed me of the wisdom of buying chinese radios from UK dealer. Whithin couple of hours of calling …

Russ Roberts‘s insight:

A cautionary tale from Julian Moss (G4ILO) on buying Chinese-made HTs from eBay.  Julian says he was fortunate to buy his Wouxon KG-UV8D from UK dealer ML&S, who replaced his defective HT (bad key pad) at no cost to him.  Julian says ML&S " arranged the UPS carrier to collect the radio to take it for an exchange…no making the customer to pay return postage."  He adds, "Imagine the trouble I would have returning it to a seller in Hong Kong…no more buying radios on eBay for me!"  It pays to check out a dealer’s return policy before you order through the internet.  Aloha de Russ (KH6JRM).
