forThe FCC has fined two unlicensed radio station operators in FLORIDA.

DAMIAN ANTHONY OJOUKU ALLEN has been hit with a $25,000 fine for operating a pirate station at 101.1 FM in FORT LAUDERDALE.  The increased fine was based on ALLEN’s alleged repeated violations on the same frequency after being warned.

And MARC-NUS CHARLES was hit with a proposed $20,000 fine for operating a pirate station at 92.5 MHz in POMPANO BEACH.

The FCC has also proposed a $7,000 fine …

Russ Roberts‘s insight:

It appears the FCC is stepping up its enforcement efforts. Two Florida FM pirate broadcasters have been assessed heavy fines for unlicensed operations.  Perhaps, the FCC can cite utility companies for an increasing amount of noise on their power lines.  At least, this is a start.  Aloha de Russ (KH6JRM).
