Ham radio operators provide parade’s communication
Ironton Tribune
“The parade was great,” Ken Massie, public information officer for the Southern Ohio Amateur Radio Association, said.

Russ Roberts‘s insight:

One of the great ways amateur radio operators can "give back" to their communities is to provide communications for local events such as parades, exhibitions, and shows.  Amateur radio operators in Southern Ohio have been providing communications services for the Ironton-Lawrence Memorial Day Parade for a quarter-century.  According to Ken Massie, the public information officer for the Southern Ohio Amateur Radio Association, "The parade was great", with hams providing essential communications for the parade and helping law enforcement and medical personnel where needed.  This was indeed a "win-win" for everyone.  Aloha de Russ (KH6JRM).
