A nice, personal account of a new ham’s first portable operation.  Andrew Garratt (M6GTG) traveled to the scenic Lake District and set up a portable 144 MHz station for the UKAC Contest.  Although he only made a few contacts, he had a great time in a most beautiful part of the UK.  Andrew, the xyl, and the dogs are off next to the Isle of Skye for the UKAC 6 meter contest.  Andrew has illustrated his adventure with some excellent photographs (especially the one showing the 3-element delta beam for 2 meters) and a detailed map.
