The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) is the national association for amateur radio, connecting hams around the U.S. with news, information and resources.

Russ Roberts‘s insight:

According to the ARRL, the WRTC-2014 committee has released the call signs that will be used by the 59 competing teams between 08 July and 14 July 2014 in selected New England locations.  WRTC competitors will use 1 X 1 call signs starting with W, K, or N with the 1st District designator.  Sixteen of the available 75 call signs will not be used, "including the  longest and shortest CW suffixes (J, Q, Y, and E), as well as H, a character that can be miscopied on CW.  The suffix "X" is not available.."  Aloha de Russ (KH6JRM).
