Knots for Antennas and Support Structures | KB9VBR J-Pole Antennas

cleKnot tying is one of the most overlooked skills of a ham radio operator.

A timely article by Michael Martens (KB9VBR)  on the importance of "knotsmanship" for ham radio operators.  Knowledge of overhand/figure 8, square knot/sheet bend, double half hitch/taut-line hitch, and the basic bowline can make erecting of antennas and even outdoor shelters  such as tents safer and more efficient.  I use many of these knots without even  realizing it–a skill I picked up as a boy scout.  Excellent tutorial.  Aloha de Russ (KH6JRM).
