Aereo probably out of business: Fmr FCC chair


Former FCC Chairmen Reed Hundt, shares his thoughts on the Supreme Court’s decision to deem Aereo illegal. Hundt says Aereo looks and feels like a cable company so it’s being treated like a cable company.

Thanks to reporter David Hall for this update.  Online TV service Aereo has an unsettled future, following a 6-3 U.S. Supreme Court ruling in favor of the four major Television networks.  The Justices ruled that Aereo violated copyright laws by sending programs directly to their subscribers without first paying fees to the networks.  The majority opinion ruled that, for all intents and purposes, Aereo was acting as a cable system and had to pay the licensing fees to send programs to online subscribers.  Aereo founder and CEO Chet Kanojia said the ruling was "a massive setback for the American consumer."  Aloha de Russ (KH6JRM).
