A World War I Centenary Celebration on the air.

The event was held Sunday, 03 August 2014, by the South Essex Amateur Radio Society (SEARS).

Special Event station GB2BM commemorated Great Britain’s entry into World War I with a portable station set up adjacent to the Say Museum on Canvey Island, "a small museum filled with artefacts from both World Wars."  SEARS members had two HF stations active on CW, SSB and the PSK31 data mode.  Club members also took the time to explain amateur radio to visitors and to show what amateur radio can do for their communities.  Great pictures of the event are attached to the article.  Go to:
