This sounds like a fun event.  On Saturday, 16 August 2014, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (local time), the Alliance (Ohio) Amateur Radio Club will set up two amateur radio stations at the Jaycees pavilion in Silver Park to demonstrate the worldwide capabilities of ham radio.  The special event stations will honor the naming of the Ohio state flower, the scarlet carnation.  For more information on this family-oriented event, call John at 330-936-5021.  Aloha de Russ (KH6JRM).
