TV commercials will be quieter under new FCC rules

The days of television commercials being startlingly louder than the shows people are watching could soon be coming to an end.

Thanks to reporter David Hall for this interesting article.  Noise limitations on television commercials is long overdue.  Effective 04 June 2015, "TV commercials will be noticeably quieter"  under new rules established by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).  In a statement to the "Federal Register," the FCC said "it is our hope that these changes will result in a modest decrease in the perceived loudness of certain commercials."  The new rules will apply to digital broadcasts, digital cable operators, and satellite providers.  Aloha de Russ (KH6JRM).
