Hannes Coetzee, ZS6BZP

5 October, 2014

Hannes Coetzee, ZS6BZP, reports that the expected solar activity will be at moderate levels.

Sunspot AR2178 has a complex magnetic configurations and may produce M- class solar flares.

If you want to do your own frequency predictions, the expected effective sunspot number for the week will be around 88.

The 20 to 10 m bands will provide lots of DX fun with some exciting 10 m openings possible.

I always enjoy the concise, accurate propagation forecasts from South African ham, Hannes Coetzee (ZS6BZP).  Hannes believes propagation “will be at moderate levels” with sunspot AR2178 producing “complex magnetic configurations” which “may produce M-class solar flares.”  Hannes says there should be good DX opportunities on amateur radio bands from 20 meters to 10 meters.
